Our flight was on 18th Sept at 1.00am . Just because we want to enjoy our every single moment in Seoul, we took the early flight. Guys, if you don't really have strength and determination, please take the next flight. You'll get to rest; AirAsi* is not like other airlines. Your head heads down 90 degrees to your shoulder //it hurts// .
Anyway let's start with my first day in Seoul. I can't believe it at first, it's like I'm living in dramas that I have been watching. Every time I walked out from the subway station, it feels like I teleported to another scene. So we arrived around 8.30am in Incheon International Airport. We took AREX to Hongik University Station ; to our guesthouse. It tooks us about 45 minutes from the airport to Hongik University Station (Hongdae). The scenery is magnificent but I don't really enjoy the scene because of my tired body. Still I can see that it is beautiful.
We stayed in Kimchee Hongdae Guesthouse ; costs 20,000krw per night per head. We took the 4persons all female dormitory ; hoping that we got a 'kamceng' roommate. *I'm sorry. I totally forgot to take pictures of the guesthouse //slap myself//*
When we arrived in Hongdae, we started to follow the directions given in their website, and yeah I kinda failed in following directions and everything. So basically we don't get lost, but we couldn't find the Kkanbu Chicken ; mentioned in the directions given. Alhamdulillah ; praise to Allah, a very kind ajusshi asked us where are we going. He gave us the directions. Maybe we looked to space out, so he started naver-ing the direction to the guesthouse and asked us to follow him. He looks trustworthy enough that we could follow him.
He walked us to the guesthouse though he was going to the opposite way. T.T aww komawoyo ajusshi. neomu neomu komawoyo.
It's not the time to check in yet, so we just ring the bell and a young Korean guy (not really young //20's// ) came out with messy hair *just woke up maybe* and greet us. He asked for our luggage and asked us at what time will we come back. So we left our luggage there and started to walk to Hongdae. Wondering around Hongdae after we ate a bowl of bibimbap that was really tasteless. I will never go there again . Kekeke i swear that must be a vege bibimbap.
Hongdae is quite big but you wouldn't get lost if you walk there for the first time; unless you asked me to go there alone wander around. I might lost for a while. kkk ^^ Most shops in Hongdae open at 12pm. After i got myself Olleh wifi card, we walk around in Hongdae and went to Mango Six cafe. This is the cafe where Trot Lovers drama filmed before. But we are not exactly in the cafe where they did the filming, like there are so many Mango Six cafes and you wouldn't know which one is it. It's a waste that I didn't spend my money for the Mango Six my bottle . It's the one that Eunji and the CEO's son used in Trot Lovers. I love watching that drama and yet i didn't bought it. //slap myself twice//
Cafe in Korea does provides you free wifi but usually you have to buy somethng to get the password for the wifi. They put out the password on the receipt. So don't worry and wonder everywhere just to get wifi. Hangout in any cafe and get a cup of coffee that will worth the wifi. :D Actually we did had an itinerary *did I spelled this right, sorry if it is not* but anyway we didn't bring it and ... so we just randomly planned where we want to go tomorrow. We decided to go to Nami Island on the second day. So we went to the tourist information to ask for help about where to buy tickets and how to get there.
The tourist information worker did a very good job in explaining in English and even help us to call the bus tour to Nami Island. However, since we would like to book for 3 people, we need to go to their office by our self and buy the ticket there. Their office located in Insadong. So we went to Insadong by subway. Subway ( underground ) in Korea is pretty much like the one in London. So, my friend and I are used to the one in London and it is not a big problem for us to understand how it works. However it is a bit confusing for my friend who used with subway in Malaysia. I'm not sure how confusing it can be to others since I have never use subway in Malaysia. I'm living wayyyyy in North Malaysia.
It tooks about 20-30 minutes from Hongdae to Insadong. We didn't get to go around Insadong for long. It is one of the tourist attraction. You can see many tour buses stop there. You can get street foods but not really cheap there. I bought myself a hoddeok that costs 1000krw and actually you can get it for 500krw only. Anyway it is hot and yummy. My friend bought the umbrella ice cream! It is so popular.
So we get ourselves tickets to Nami Island and a single trip tickets for the bus trip to the jetty. I convinced them to come back to Seoul by train since I really want to go to Petite France! After walking a bit around Insadong we went back to Hongdae to check in. We slept the second we put our head on the pillow. So, now let's go to Day 2 !
